Interview mit Max Schaefer

mythos.jpgWie ich bereits im MMO-Artikel gesagt habe, ist Mythos für mich das vielversprechendste kostenlose MMO, was derzeit in Vorbereitung ist. Angelehnt an das gute alte Diablo 2 bietet Mythos den Diablo-Fans so einiges.

Will Mythos get a fifth race after or before launch? And when “yes” – can you tell us something about the new race?

Max Schaefer: Mythos will get a new race, probably after launch. Actually, if things go as planned, there will be many more races and classes as we go forward. We are not yet ready to reveal any details, though.

Will Mythos get new classes?

Max Schaefer: See above. There will be new classes! Our development process has us always working on what the game needs most at the time. When we evaluate the game and think the most important thing is a new class, that is what will be worked on.

How do you fancy in an Item oriented play useful PvP? I mean, Wow has demonstrated that functions not really.

Max Schaefer: Every game is different, and the success or failure of PvP will be in the design and implementation. We will continuously adjust and balance PvP based on direct observations of player behavior, and also tweak rules and introduce more competitive modes as we go.

Do you really have before the whole map of the world which seems to be gigantic to fill?

Max Schaefer: We have every intention of filling the world map!

mythosin.jpgHow many areas are in moment in planning?

Max Schaefer: It seems that every day we have new ideas for new areas. Like I mentioned before, our development process is very reactive and iterative, so as we go, we evaluate the game and determine what will be the most fun and interesting area to make next. Obviously the world map allows for many different terrain and atmosphere styles.

Will there be such a thing like Housing really?

Max Schaefer: Yes. We have every intention of adding both guild houses and eventually player housing.

Is the guild system mended?

Max Schaefer: The guild system is implemented only in the most basic form. We will add features and improve the system a lot over the next several months.

Will the Anarchy points remain lasting?

Max Schaefer: Anarchy points can be worked off by killing monsters in the PvP world.

Will the Game release also in German?

Max Schaefer: We hope to localize in German soon, but I do not have a specific date. As evidenced by our previous press tour through Germany, we consider it an extremely important territory with knowledgable and dedicated gamers!

Mythos will finance itself about so-called item-stores. In which prize area will these stores move?

Max Schaefer: You will be able to buy items and services from vendors using the in-game cash currency in each town. They will work very much like the regular vendors, only instead of gold, silver, and copper, they will take the cash currency.

Will there be for fans like me sometime maybe a collector edition? Lineage 2 has demonstrated it here and after 2 years has thrown on the market a collector edition.

Max Schaefer: That’s a little ahead of where we’re thinking right now, but I like the idea. If we are successful in launching Mythos, we’ll do something like that for our fans!

If you sometimes find the time to play Mythos – what you play? Class / Race and why.

gremlin.jpgMax Schaefer: I love to play the Gremlin, and usually bloodletter or gadgeteer. Currently, however, I’m playing a Cyclops, which I find a highly amusing character.

Before we finish this nice interview, I would still like to ask you: Of what can you still inform us exclusive of what you have not informed other sides yet?

Max Schaefer: Beware the infinite danger of Zardon!! Other than that, I can tell you that our in-game cash currency will be called….. Ingots!

Thank you Mr. Schaefer for this Interview. I hope Mythos would be a great Game.. No, I know that Mythos would be a great Game. Im a big Fan of this Game. And if, nevertheless, you want to make liable to pay costs one day. I think here the fans pay with pleasure monthly. A survey of us confirms this that the people were ready to pay.

Max Schaefer: There really is no good way to get money from customers, is there? If only we could get a government subsidy and provide the game for free to everyone, then everyone would be happy! Seriously, a huge part of our market is the Asian territories, and they are almost 100% using the item store model. Since our team is as small as our budget, we can only support one financial model at this time, and are going with the item store concept worldwide. We think it provides the most flexibility, and the best option for those who cannot pay any cash to play.

    Interview sehr nice. Spielerisch scheint das Game auch sehr nice zu werden, nur gefällt mir der Look nicht :(

    Nettes Interview,
    auf unserer D2-Page warten auch schon viele sehnsüchtig auf den Release von Mythos. Man darf wirklich gespannt sein, was sie aus dem alten D2 Konzept machen und ob sie die Wünsche der Comm wirklich erkannt haben.
    Beim grottigen 1.10er Patch von Diablo sind mir da schon Zweifel gekommen, aber ich weiß nicht mehr so ganz genau, in wie weit es noch auf dem Mist der alten Crew gewachsen ist.

    Mythos ist ähnlich Diablo und dennoch genug verschieden das man sie nur dem Gerne nach unter einen Hut stecken kann. Mythos ist nicht schlecht, aber wer einen D2 klon mit besserrer Grafik sucht findet hier nicht.
    Spass macht es aber alle mal und ich bin auch mal auf die Vollversion gespannt.
    Jochen english ist nicht deien Sprache, aber egal Interview ist dennoch Top.

    Die Typen von Flagship sind echt in Ordnung. Ich lernte sie an meinem ersten Tag bei OnlineWelten kenne. Lustige Truppe und klasse Spiel.
